About The Area

If you are in search of peace and quiet, the Quinta is a paradise - there is nothing better than a drink on the covered verandah or a walk in the grounds. If you feel more active you might use the jogging track or challenge a friend to a game of giant draughts or chess.

The surrounding area of Lisbon and the Setúbal Peninsula offers countless opportunities for relaxation, sport and leisure. Choose from swimming and surfing along the Costa da Caparica, visiting vineyards for wine tastings, city shopping/sight seeing in the scenic Alfama or viewing the classic and modern art at the Gulbenkian, Cultural Centre de Belem and other museums. The site of Expo hosts many concerts and the Oceanarium (the largest aquarium in Europe), including penguins, sharks, sea otter, rays and exotic fish and seahorses, is always open. A popular trip is a ferry ride across the Tagus to the Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, not forgetting to return via the famous pastry shop.

See the 'Links' page for further details on the above activities.
